Terms of Use

These terms explain how to use CariDoa well. We wrote them in plain language; please read them before using the service.

In short

  • CariDoa is free, and no du'a is sold.
  • We are not a fatwa body, and we promise no outcome. Acceptance of du'a belongs to Allah.
  • Write only good du'a. Harmful content, magic, gambling or requests for money are blocked.
  • Your content stays yours.
  1. 1.Accepting these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and CariDoa. By using caridoa.com, creating an account or sending a du'a as a guest, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Notice.

  2. 2.About the service

CariDoa offers a catalogue of sourced du'a, the Ask & Pray network, and Du'a Links for pilgrims. The service is free.

CariDoa is not a religious authority and not a fatwa body. We pass on du'a with their sources, but we do not issue rulings. For questions of Islamic law, ask your state Mufti department. We promise no outcome: acceptance of du'a belongs to Allah alone, and nothing on CariDoa is a promise that any du'a will be accepted.

  3. 3.Eligibility and accounts

    • You must be at least 13 years old. Users under 18 can use CariDoa but cannot post anything publicly: no du'a requests to Pray, no journeys on Explore or open to the public, and only anonymous notes.
    • Give true information when you sign up, including your age group, and verify your email.
    • Keep your password and devices safe. Use a password of at least 10 characters that is not easy to guess. You are responsible for activity in your account.
    • One account per person. Do not pretend to be someone else, including claiming to be at a holy site when you are not.
    • Your username is public: it appears in the address of every journey you share and on Explore, so do not use your full name.
  4. 4.Guest senders

You can send a du'a through a Du'a Link without an account. Guest senders must agree to the Privacy Notice, pass a security check, and stay within the sending limits set by the link owner. Name and email are optional; an email, if given, is used only for the memento and notices about that du'a. The content rules below apply to guests in the same way.

You can attach a du'a from the catalogue, write your own words, or both. An attached du'a is shown exactly as it is in the catalogue and cannot be changed. Recitations of the Quran, such as Ayat al-Kursi or whole surahs, are not offered as du'a to send.

  5. 5.Prohibited content

Du'a is asking Allah for good. You must not write, send or upload:

    • Curses, or du'a for death, misfortune or harm on anyone.
    • Magic, santau, love charms (pengasih), amulets, saka, shamans (bomoh), fortune-telling, or asking jinn for help.
    • Gambling (including illegal lotteries and 4D) and any unlawful aim.
    • Fundraising, bank account numbers, requests for money transfers, links or phone numbers.
    • Mocking any religion, declaring others unbelievers (takfir), extremism or teachings ruled deviant by fatwa.
    • Sexual or obscene content.
    • Exposing other people's faults or family conflicts, and other people's personal details such as full names, identity card numbers or addresses.
    • Advertising, political campaigning, spam, or using bots, scrapers, or attempts to get around security checks and rate limits.
  6. 6.How moderation works

Everything written is checked automatically, including journey titles and addresses. Personal details are removed; prohibited content is blocked with a gentle message and a better du'a to try; doubtful content is held for a person to review. Every new request to Pray is also read by our team before it is shown, usually within 24 hours. If writing shows signs of crisis, it is not published, helplines are shown, and an administrator is told so they can help.

You can report a du'a, note, dedication or journey that you feel is not appropriate, and an error in a catalogue du'a. Reports pass the same security check as other forms.

  7. 7.Your content and its licence

The content you write stays yours. You give CariDoa a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, moderate and show it to its intended recipients, only to run this service. The licence ends when your content or account is deleted, with one exception: a du'a you sent through someone else's link stays with that person as an amanah, without your name or email, until they delete it or it is deleted automatically after their link closes.

We do not use your content for advertising or to train AI models. You confirm that you have the right to share what you send, including photos and audio.

  8. 8.Catalogue content

Du'a in the catalogue are compiled from named sources, each under its own licence as listed on Source Attribution. Some translations are for non-commercial use only. Translations help you understand the meaning; they do not replace the original text. If you find a mistake, please report it to us.

Until the requirements for publishing Quranic text are met, du'a that contain the Quran show their title, reference, when to read them and links to read the verse elsewhere, without the verse text, its translation or a meaning.

  9. 9.No paid du'a

In line with the Office of the Mufti of the Federal Territories' explanation of "Valet Doa", no du'a is sold on CariDoa. You must not offer, ask for or accept payment, gifts or donations in return for praying for anyone through CariDoa. Campaign and invite links carry no rewards of any kind.

  10. 10.Place labels and the verified badge

The "verified" badge means the device was inside a recognised holy-site area when the du'a was marked done. It is a sign of community trust, not absolute proof. A place label typed by hand is not verified.

  11. 11.Suspension and termination

We may hide content, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk. A suspended account cannot sign in, and its sessions stop working. An administrator can also archive, cancel or take down a Du'a Link; until the action is lifted, the owner cannot change the link's status, settings or private link, but can still delete it. If you think a decision is a mistake, contact us through the feedback form.

You can stop using CariDoa and delete your account at any time. Deletion locks the account at once and becomes final after a 7-day cooling-off period, as the Privacy Notice explains.

  12. 12.Disclaimer and limitation of liability

CariDoa is provided as it is. We work to keep the content accurate and the service available, but we cannot promise a service free of interruptions or errors. As far as Malaysian law allows, CariDoa is not liable for indirect loss arising from the use of this service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be excluded by law.

  13. 13.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Significant changes will be announced on this page, in the Changelog and, if you have an account, by email. If you keep using CariDoa after a change takes effect, you are taken to agree to the new terms.

  14. 14.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
