Guide

Step-by-step guides for every CariDoa feature. Choose what you would like to do.

Find a du'a

Find a du'a for what you need, understand its meaning and save it to practise.

  1. Step 1

    Type what you need

On the home page or the Search page, type a keyword such as "debt", "travel" or "children". Results appear instantly.

  2. Step 2

    Or pick a category

Open Find Du'a and choose a category, such as Morning & Evening or Du'a of the Prophets. Filter by source: Quran, Hadith or Ma'thur.

  3. Step 3

    Read with understanding

Each du'a shows the Arabic text, a pronunciation guide (for du'a not from the Quran), the meaning, when to read it and its reference. Du'a that contain the Quran do not show the verse text or its meaning yet; follow the links to quran.com or JAKIM Smart Quran.

  4. Step 4

    Save or share

Tap Save to add it to My Du'a, or Share to send the link on WhatsApp, Telegram or as a QR code. Without an account, a saved du'a stays on this device only until you sign in.

Ask for du'a

Ask fellow Muslims to pray for your needs without revealing your name.

  1. Step 1

    Sign in or sign up

Asking for du'a needs an account so that notes can reach you, and it is open to users aged 18 and over. Signing up is free and takes a minute.

  2. Step 2

Choose a theme and a language

Choose a theme such as Health, Family or Provision, and the language of your du'a, so people who understand it can find your request.

  3. Step 3

    Write your du'a

Write your request in your own words (10 to 1000 characters). Stay anonymous, and leave out full names and phone numbers. Mark it Urgent if it needs du'a within 72 hours.

  4. Step 4

    Checked before it is shown

Requests are checked automatically and personal details are removed. Then our team reads every new request before it is shown to people who pray, usually within 24 hours.

  5. Step 5

    Receive a note

Once someone has prayed, you receive their short note on My Home and by email, unless you turn that email off. A note that needs checking appears once it is approved. Up to 3 people can pray for each request, and only you see how many have.

Pray for others

Take a few minutes to pray for a fellow Muslim, then send them a short note.

  1. Step 1

    Open Pray

The feed lists requests that are waiting. Filter by language and theme, and sort by Urgent first, Newest or Oldest.

  2. Step 2

    Carry one request

Tap "I will pray" to carry that request. It is reserved for you for 24 hours so nobody else takes it at the same time.

  3. Step 3

    Pray in focus mode

Read the request calmly. Pray sincerely at a good time and place, for example after the prayer.

  4. Step 4

    Send a note back

Write a short note and choose where you prayed. Notes are checked before they reach the requester, and you can stay anonymous. Notes from users under 18 are always anonymous.

Send a du'a to a pilgrim

Pass your du'a to family or friends travelling to the Holy Land, without signing up.

  1. Step 1

    Open the pilgrim's link

Open the link the pilgrim shared, or find their public journey on Explore.

  2. Step 2

    Step 1: your details

Name and email are optional. Choose Hide my name if you do not want the pilgrim to see it. An email is needed only if you would like a memento, and it is not shown to the pilgrim.

  3. Step 3

    Step 2: attach or write a du'a

Attach a du'a from the catalogue with "Attach this du'a", write your own words (10 to 2,000 characters), or both. A catalogue du'a is attached exactly as written and cannot be changed. Recitations of the Quran such as Ayat al-Kursi are not offered to send.

  4. Step 4

    Step 3: review and send

Check your du'a, add a short message to the pilgrim (up to 300 characters), tick the privacy consent and complete the security check, then tap Send du'a.

Reading mode and offline use

Read every du'a entrusted to you one by one in the Holy Land, even without internet.

  1. Step 1

    Open reading mode

From the journey dashboard, tap "Start reading". To read without internet, tap "Get ready for offline" while you are connected. That copy is deleted automatically 7 days after the journey ends, and when you sign out.

  2. Step 2

    One du'a at a time

Du'a are shown one by one in large type. Read calmly; the trust-list number helps you keep the order.

  3. Step 3

Mark the place and add a note

Tap Detect my location for a place label (for example Raudhah), or type it yourself. Only the place label is kept, not the coordinates. Add a short note or a voice note of up to 90 seconds.

  4. Step 4

    Confirm done, even offline

Tap Confirm done. Without internet, the completion is saved on your device and sent automatically when you are back online.

Mementos and dedications

Senders receive a memento once their du'a has been read, and can reply with a thank-you note.

  1. Step 1

    Memento email

When the pilgrim marks your du'a as done, you receive an email with a private link to your memento page, if you gave an email.

  2. Step 2

    The memento page

See your du'a, the place label with its verified badge, the time, and the pilgrim's note and voice note.

  3. Step 3

    Send a dedication

Reply with a thank-you note. You can attach up to 3 photos or audio recordings (2 MB each, 5 MB in all). Location data in photos is removed before upload. Tick the consent box before you send.

  4. Step 4

    The pilgrim stays in control

The pilgrim can hide dedications, revoke the memento link, or delete the du'a together with its memento at any time. Every dedication goes through moderation.
